Maybe I am the rare case, but after years of playing Rudy Meinl's(3/4) and Alex's (2 163's over the years), I switched to BBb because I liked the sound. No one has ever asked me what key tuba I play. I can miss notes, and make music, on any horn. I am glad to see that no one has brought up the specter of ease of playing sharp keys. I honestly don't have a problem with the sharp keys. Then again, I play Meistersinger on a 5/4 F. I simply can't play the tune like I want to on BBb, but it was a breeze on CC. I appreciate the fact that a pro hasn't dropped the bomb on the specter of a BBb being a "non-choice". I appreciate your candor and ideas on this subject, Jay. I hope that the tuba world will stop being hung up on equipment and be more result oriented. Have Peace.

Chuck
