G.I.M.M.I.C.K. - it is a bit overpriced for the materials (about 2 oz. of black plastic, a nut and a screw), but I don't think that I could make one that would work as well.

It is a very useful tool. It helps me to analyze some of my problems very effectively. Because it attaches to your horn and puts the mouthpiece close to where it normally is, it helps to bridge the mental gap between mouthpiece buzzing and playing the horn normally. I have the problem of buzzing differently than I play, and I think that many players do but just don't know it. It's amazing how eye-opening it is to buzz a problem passage on the BERP. You can hear just how much the consistency of air-flow effects tone and clarity.

It is a very useful tool - definitely worth the $17 or whatever it costs.
