Earlier this evening I was listening to the Mahler Symphony No. 6 played by the San Francisco Symphony on our local fine arts radio station and heard some fantastic tuba playing in it! Can anyone tell me who the tuba player might have been? Or some commentary about the tuba part? The conductor was Micheal Tilson Thomas, if that would give a clue as to the approximate date this composition might have been recorded.
