I have a St. Pete 201N as well. The finish does have a tarnish problem, and there are a few bare brass spots from the previous owner (I guess he had a strong body chemistry). Cosmetically, it isn't ugly or bad, but it has a "been around a while" look to it. Just adds character ;)

Well, I got it used for around $1900, and it is perfect for me. My instructor said that the tuba is just what I need, and it fits me like a glove. I love the sound of it, and the playability. The response is even and full in all registers, and the intonation is pretty much right on throughout all registers. I consistently play anything from pedal Bb up to high F above the staff, and the sound is full throughout it all. The tuba is a great instrument from my experience, and I recommend it to anyone who needs a really nice tuba on a budget.

Nick
