Sounds to me like you are asking "will a Hirsbrunner make me play better?" well,probably.A good instrument is also a good teacher,too.
I own a HB20 and I think it is a very sensitive instrument and fit all my needs for a CC.
Regarding the difference, I have only played on one of the old ones which is a HB2P and I found my instrument and the other which is a HB21 are more consistent but the old HB2P
has a warmer sound.I dont know if the old ones are handmade..maybe you can try to e-mail Peter Hirsbrunner,who is a nice businessman.
Finally,if you compare a HB to others you will find them EXTREMELY expensive, but they last forever!
