I have to agree about yoru comments. I recently acquired an HB2P, and I feel that the sound quality is unmatched. To me, the sound just has an incredible core, if you will, to it. I've never been able to get such a big sound out of a tuba, and still sound so solid and warm. As for the newer horns, I also agree whole-heartedly. I've play tested the newer horns, and not that they were bad, but to my ears, they did not seem to have the same quality sound as my older horn. However, another point has been made. The German horns out there are also incredible. I played on an PT-4P, which is still for sale!!!, and actually chose it over those newer HB's because of the sond characteristic, and, as pointed out, it was much more economical at the time. Just a humble thought...jeff
