I really don't like the MW 2000 series because it didn't work for me.  The sound was too hollow and very small for what I was looking for.  I think that if something sounds easy, then that's a good thing, not a bad one.  It means that you don't have to struggle so much to make a sound on it, and then you can work on the finer things in order to make a wonderful sound.  Ask Jim Self, Don Harry, and Roger Bobo about their Yamahas being too easy to play. 
The YCB-862 is their rotary model.  Matt Walters really loves this model and I liked it too, except for those evil rotary valves.
