As I've matured as a player I've had my fair share of moments where I just didn't feel like playing too. I hope I'm not giving away a trade secret here but I've found that if I just commit myself to play for ten minutes often times the act of playing, which takes a conscious effort to dredge up enough engergy to make a solid product, will create more energy. I can feel myself become more alert and able to focus my attentions. Once this has happened it's easy to continue and it no longer feels like work. If this doesn't work then I know that there is something more than a simple case of 'I don't feel like it' going on and move on to other areas where I can be more productive.. such as sleep.

On a slightly different note: Does anyone else find that they are most anxious to play right before they go to bed? Any theories as to why?

That's my theory and I'm stick'n to it!(until I change my mind)

good luck on your next gig!
joseph :)
