Bydlo...out of curiosity

After reading yet another Bydlo post, a question popped into my gradually shrinking head: it's not uncommon for very good, huge BBb tubas (like the big old Holtons) to get cut to CC. Why is it uncommon for someone to take an old, large-bore Bb Euph, and chop it to a C Euph for use in something like Bydlo, Berlioz R&J, and a few selected others. With a huge Euph mpc., it should work.

I played the little guy that Charlie had in Greensboro, and a much bigger horn would work much better. I also know that Miraphone has one on their web site with the following specs:

Key: C
Style: upright
Bell diameter: 310 mm
Bore of valve section: conical 14.7mm - 16.2 mm

So how does that compare with other large-bore Euphs that would be good candidates for the chopping block? Is it even finacially feasable?

Just random musings after a long day at work...
