Personnally, I'm agree with this guy... To do a good practice, you need to have a good reason and to fix some goals brings you many good reasons! When you pick your horn, from the first note you play to the last, you need to have a goal... On that way, that's a short term goal (the exercises you practice)... The long term goal, is a good reason to start each pratice... As he said, he wants to get a job, so he practices to bring himself on a level to do auditions. Fix some long terms goals to start your practice and short terms goals to do it well...
