You make a good point. But rather than express this in a negative light, how about some examples of how it SHOULD be done?

Can you (and other TubeNet readers) name some recordings where the player keeps a round, warm, full tone on isolated notes well below the staff?

One piece that calls for this, for instance, is the Penderecki Capriccio. Whose recording best exemplifies how these isolated low notes really should be played?
