I went there for camp and it was great. I had the best summer of my life at Interlochen and have nothing but positive things to say about the summer program. I had friends who went to the academy and they liked it, but if they had the opportunity to choose again they would choose NOT to go.
They got wrapped up in drugs and alcohol while there. Many people did. When you are in an intense atmosphere and have no nearby outlets, these things happen I suppose. If you want to practice your ass off and stay clean, then stay home, take lessons, go to concerts and conferences. Make your own plan to get better. It won't be Interlochen, but you'll be in college in a year.
