If that's why you switched to CC then you've wasted your time in my opinion.

Can you do anything new or significantly better on your CC than the Bb?? If so, great; that's why you should make the shift.

..."playing CC causes me to learn new fingers, transpose, etc. it gives me more reason to pay attention to a sheet of music, which in fact makes me more focused on what i need to do to make good music in itself."...

Look at international soloists. How many of them do you see playing concerti from sheet music?? Any time spent 'Thinking' about the mechanical process (which finger etc) of making music, can olny detract from actually making music. Fact.

All you've said you've done is re-learnt what you could already do with no inherent gain. That's wasting your time my friend.

If you wanted to raise your game you could've learnt to read parts in C treble clef, Bb treble, Eb Treble, Alto Clef, Tenor Clef ALL ON YOUR Bb. That would make you a better, more useful musician.

What's your take on this?
