Hi! This is my first posting on this BBS. I am amazed at the diversity of the questions, and mostly, the intelligence of the answers.
I was able to sub last year with a pretty good orchestra, and there was a little bit of a decision to make with this instance as well. I was also doing quite a varied repertoire.
In the end, I made the decision to take both, because I wanted to make sure I had all the tools I might need for the gig. If I happened to need one that I didn't bring, then I would have felt ill-prepared. I had the room in the car, and it is better to be safe than sorry.
Now, with the repertoire that you have mentioned, I don't see why you would need the F tuba. You should be able to perform all of these pieces on the CC.
The question is will you feel comfortable playing them on just one horn?
