First off, I'm sorry for puting a message about bass trombones on a tuba post. I realize I am a little out of place here, and, ahh, I hope you won't mind just one more?!? :-) You see I have been shopping around for a bass trombone for quite some time now, but I am still left with some questions. Everyone seems to point fingers. I think I have narrowed my search down to a Bach Independant open wrap. I don't think an Edwards is in my budget right now.
I have three questions: (1)Which is preferable, a 9.5 or 10.5 inch bell? I havent heard much on the 10.5. (2)Yellow, rose, red, or gold? and...(3)How does the Rene Hagmann valve compare to a thayer valve?
Anyone who can answer one or all of these questions, please, enlighten me. Again, I am sorry for littering this site w/ petty trombone problems (hehe), but I haven't seen as much information on this as I see here. Thanks.
