As I am in the market for a similar horn, about a month ago I emailed the brasswind to ask about the thayer vs. hagmann issue. In a nutshell, the response (from Mr. Gibson(?) I think) was that they hagmann and thayer are virtually indistinguishable when it comes to playing them. However, with Bach bones, there is a price diffence of something like $600+ (more for thayer) and a backorder diffence of up to 13 months (14-16 thayer, 3-6 hagmann). I suggest you call them and talk with them directly, as they can probably answer you questions more directly than I can. Also, I think Ken is right on the money with regards to bells.
