I've not had the pleasure of playing the 4/4 Rudy, but what you say about the Meinl Weston 2145 is very true. The entire range of the horn is free-blowing. Our orchestra is presently preparing the Shostakovich 1. The low stuff comes out of the 2145 almost effortlessly, including the loud low EE flats in the fourth movement. Could the Rudy be that much better than the MW 2145 to justify the price difference?
