I used to feel the same way. It takes a while to get used to the F. (Believe it or not a Conn Helleberg works really well for most Fs.) Try slurring into the "low register." (Matt Good and Dave Kirk play Kopprasch etudes down an octave on their Fs. . .) Have fun!
