The 52J is physically lighter and at least to my ears brighter, some would say more focused. I bought a 56J after nearly two months of trying both horns at Brookmays. I don't do orchestra so I can't comment, I do use it in a 75 piece community band and have done smaller stuff including brass quintet without difficulty. At the risk of repeating others you really should try both.
