My teacher recommended that I use the Humes and Berg aluminum mute exclusively. I got one, and it is great, far better than any of the regular cone ones (white or aluminum) that I have used in the past. I looked all over the place, and WWandBW was the best price by far. Be prepared to wait 4 or 5 months for it, though. For a CC or BBb tuba, you want the bigger of the two tuba models. I think it's the 208.
