When I made the switch, my teacher had me write down major scales and read them daily. I think that this is the same as working on easier music, and it makes alot of sense. You don't need to relearn musical concepts. Just a new mental drill. Incidently, all of this was for naught when I moved to NYC and met a guy who would read anything on any horn in any key. He said, and I paraphrase "just push the right buttons", which to this day makes me remember that the buttons are about the smallest part of playing. As far as your auditions, the school wants you, or you wouldn't be at the audition in the first place, you wouldn't have spent your money on 2145, and you wouldn't be spending your time online when you could be watching TV. Remember how much the schools need you. There are many schools, only one you. Peace.
