A post below mentioned oiling piston valves without removing them. It seems logical to me to remove them when oiling to get the oil evenly distributed, right down to the bottom, and I have always done this.
However, a local teacher with a reputation of credibility has been telling his students not to remove valves when oiling, as it's unnecessary and can lead to damage/premature wear.
Any opinions?
