It would not be the B&M that would tempt me (the YM is nearly identical to it), it would be that big Holton of Tony's. But there's not a way in the world I can justify it, even as an amateur who doesn't have to justify anything. My YM blends well with the King played by my section mate, and the Holton might not. Our band is wind-ensemble size, so it's not like they are screaming for more sound from the tuba section (better sound, maybe, but that's another story). Heck, I only play in two groups, and I use F in one of them. The Holton is too expensive to buy just to look at.

If I didn't have the YM, the B&M would be worth the drive all by itself.

On the other hand, I am curious about the effects of the different bell shapes between the one-piece B&M's and Marzan's and the interchangeable YM. Going to Baltimore to satisfy that curiosity, with the Holton sitting there singing its siren song, would be a very, very dangerous thing to do.
