Mary Ann, that's really interesting! My wife the flute player likes to incorporate whole-body motion in her playing when she's standing and that seems to be fairly common. OTOH, I was criticized by a teacher for sometimes raising my eyebrows when I play. I guess the ideal tuba player is a motionless deadpan and the ideal violinst, just the opposite.
What a strange world we live in! :)
