I'm trying out a Conn 24J/25J for the first time and I'm surprised about how it plays. I like the sound, which is dark and full with a little bit more bottom than I've been getting out of my CC, but the sound is a little bit stuffy. Has anyone else noticed this with the Conn BAT's? How can I get rid of it? Also, the dynamic ranges I'm capable of with the Conn is nearly identical to that of my Yamaha 4/4 CC. Is this normal for the Conn 2XJ's? I don't mind, but it is not at all what I was expecting from a horn this size. Any thoughts? Btw, I'm trying a Laskey 30G and a Conn Helleberg on the horn. The Helleberg gives me more focus and is my favorite of the two so far.
