I have tried a couple of 1291 BBbs and agree that they are great tubas. I have only tried the 5 valve versions, but they have all been easy to play with a nice sound. The price I remember was over $5,000. I would have a hard time justifying the incremental cost vs. a King 2341, but if money isn't an issue or if you absolutely need the 5th valve, it's definitely better. I like it better than any other BBb tubas that I have tried, including the Willson or any Meinl-Westons.
