Alternative to Tuba Stand

Just a helpful hint to some-
As of late, I had been searching for a tuba stand to accomodate a good playing position. The cheapest stand I had found was over 40$ (a DEG stand). While the cost seemed reasonable, given the desired result, I happened to read an article in the Instrumentalist by Thomas Bough. His recommendation for younger players is to stack hockey pucks under the tuba. So I went out and bought two pucks - which work wonderfully.

$1.79 may have saved me years of posture trouble and they are also small enough to fit in the pocket of my gig bag. They do not allow the tuba to slide around, as they are rubber, and I can always use just one if the chair warrants such. Thought this might be a bit of advice worth sharing for those whom are searching for a cost-efficient solution to a stand.
