I've played tuba for almost 10 years and have enjoyed every day of it. Since I am, however, a gigging musician I am trying to expand my horizons and be able to serve in multiple capacities around my community. Thus, I am trying to find an inexpensive bass bone. My question is for those of you who learned another (presumably valved) instrument and THEN bass bone: what's the best way to go about doing this? Should I just sit down with a tuner and slide chart? Any advice is certainly appreciated.
