I demonstrate lip placement to some of my kids this way. It seems to help almost immediately.
Without a mouthpiece, try to buzz and direct your airstream that it goes straight ahead or even slightly upward. That's basically your low range position.
Again, without a mouthpiece, try to buzz and direct your airstream so that it goes almost straignt down--you should be able to feel it hitting your chin. That's your basically high range position.
Admittedly, this deals with a secondary effect of lip placement (airstream direction), but it's a vivid illustration of the way one changes the embouchure to change range.
