That's the only scenario that makes sense to me as a possiblity. Somebody out there must really know for sure. Incredibly, the only "history" left of Martin, one of the oldest American instrument companies, is a small notebook of serial #s that LeBlanc has. I've contacted them and they claim that there is virtually nothing left after several owners. This seems all too typical and seems to be the story among some other brands as well.
