The 2155 has proven to be an outstanding instrument. I have played it against a hirsbrunner, a B&S pt6 and a Culbertson neptune. I feel the 2155 gives the most versatile sound and response. I do agree with "sam" in that the horn will do well in a quintet as well as a large orchestra. The sound can be almost as full as a 6/4, (I did say almost), and then turn around and have the lightness and clarity of an F tuba. Even though the horn can do all of this I will admit that it can be alot of work using it for all situations. But still if you are going to own one tuba. The 2155 is definately woth considering.
