I agree with David on that one. I am of the mindset that if the equipment is fantastic and heads and shoulders above the rest then be willing to shell out a one time investment of some extra cash. However, $350 for a single mouthpiece seems a bit extreme. I have played on a couple of these heavy weight mouthpieces and never really got turned on by the sound or response of them.

If you really want to see improvements and need a new mouthpiece, then buy one for $90-100 or so and take a lesson with 3 top professionals you respect at about $75/lesson. Spend the remaining money on a ticket to a major symphony concert performing a tune you have never heard live.
