This truly a matter of YOUR opinion. Play both see what you like. Each company makes so many different size, model, whatever tuba that you will be bound to find something you like. By far the Hirsbrunner Grand Orchestral Tuba is the best buy for an orchestra setting, but it doesn't not sit well in quintet. Plus it's very expensive well over $10,000. The Meinl Weston 2155 which I play both in orchestra and quintet I consider the best buy on the market. Read my other post down a little bit further on the page. It should help you a little more with the MW's. If you want to pay a big hunk of money then no doubt go with the Hirsbrunner, no one can beat them in quality of a horn.
