Geez, and here I thought everyone was doing the same thing I'm doing when I see a name I don't recognize. This is much easier than dragging out the T.U.B.A. roster anyday! Anyway, here goes:

I am currently Principal Tubist with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, a position I've held since 1985. I also teach tuba and euphonium at Florida International University and New World High School for the Performing Arts (Miami, FL). Every chance I get, I perform with the New Sousa Band under director Keith Brion.

Graduated Interlochen Arts Academy, 1979.
Graduated University of Michigan, 1984 (B.Mus. - Tuba Performance).
Graduated University of Illinois, 1988 (M.Mus. - Tuba Performance).

My teachers have been, among others:
Abe Torchinsky, Fritz Kaenzig, Oscar LaGasse, Roger Bobo, and Arnold Jacobs.

Currently, I play on a Rudolf Meinl RM-10 4/4 CC tuba (circa 1969), a Willson WI3400S Eb tuba, a Cervany ACB-601 6/4 (maybe bigger) CC tuba, and a Cervany AEB-641 Eb tuba.

My goal in life is to retire in style in sunny South Florida, having decorated my house with as many brass spare parts as possible(LOL).
