I am in a college low brass choir/trombone choir. I am playing the tuba, mostly on the bottom trombone part. Here is my question, Is most of the music writen for this type of ensemble slow and melodic, like religious music. It seems like all the director picks is slow songs. These songs are very pretty and all, but the audience falls asleep while listening to these types of songs over and over. So once again, is most of the music writen for these ensembles slow and melodic?
