If your tuba is in good shape and you want to keep it that way it is advisable to get the Johnson case. I have a Swiss made hard case that came with my Yorkbrunner which I use on a daily basis back and forth to work. But I use the Johnson case when I fly with it. The Swiss cases are a step above most hard cases but the Johnson case is really a whole different ball game. It is meant to be used for flying, etc., where other folks are handling it in a different environment where we don't have control over the prevailing conditions. Bon voyage, and good luck.
