You need to play in a hall (or just a band room or something) once in a while -- both to make sure that you still can "put out", and to treat yourself to how good you sound.

A small room will magnify difficult-to-hear problems, but it can introduce many problems of its own (for example, resonances in the room can throw off your perception of even, consistent tone _and_ intonation). Get in a hall, or go outside, or whatever, and have some fun!
