I have seen many recordings of this piece. Off the top of my head and as I look at my collection. Roger Bobo, Gene Pokorny, Michael Lind, Abe Torchinsky, Dan Perantoni(a while ago), and Fritz Kaenzig (very recently). I like each recording for different reasons, but I like Kaenzig's the best. Maybe I am biased, because he is my teacher, but I have some pretty sound evidence to support my opinion. If you haven't seen Kaenzig's recording, it is because it has not been released by a major label yet. It will be soon. It is with all the brass professors at the University of Michigan playing their respective Sonatas and Charles Daval, prof of trumpet, also playing the alto horn sonata. It is quite a good disc.
