I agree that there are some serious problems with the MP3 revolution. I understand that people who illegally copy tracks from commercial CD's are hurting the music industry as a whole. I know that if I or my record company make several bucks off of each CD, then I sure as hell wouldn't want someone to be able to pirate tracks from that CD for free.

Now to the good part- I think that this new technology has been a godsend for artists who don't have record deals. Think of all the musicians and composers who never get their music heard beyond the county line! I very much enjoy scouring MP3.com for that rare gem amongst all the mediocrity, and believe me, they're there. Without websites like mp3.com and Napster, I would never ever hear some of those guys. The RIAA has a point in their lawsuit(s), but I just hope that the technology isn't canned just because they can't make a buck off of it.
