You're absolutely right. The difference is that on the 621 F tuba, the valve slide isn't on the bell. That's what I think causes more of the problems that I had with these horns. I think just the mass of the slide being on the bell causes a lot of the resonance to be dampered off. Mind you, I haven't played a Rusk cut in almost a year, but this is how much I can remember.
