I've been chasing marching bands since I was two years old, so my mother says. She had to chase me down the street as I had to follow the bands in the parade. The real revalation came when I went to the All-State Division of the "Interlochen Music Camp" between my junior and senior year in high school, summer of 1961. When I came home from that two week experience I was hooked. Music and I were partners for the rest of my life. I have taught elementary, middle and high school band for 27 years. Since then I have been involved in the music retail industry for the last 7 years. I have been playing my euphonium more since I left education. I still have the desire to be better than yesterday and I continue to perform recitals and play in the local brass band.
BTW anyone want to form a Tuba Quartet, I'm interested.
