I think that If i remember correctly, Joe Alessi didn't join until the early 90's. Also I would like to add that Avery Fisher is far from being a good hall to record in ont op of the fact that the sound engineer from these recordings seems to be using far too many microphones and playing with the sliders too much.
BTW, as musicians we should be evaluating the entire performance from all sections not just the brass. Not every great brass recording is a great recording of the work and not every great recording puts the brass at the forefront.
