I am not trying to rip into your point of view with this post, this does pose an interesting argument that I am curious about.

I also study under a top professional player, and he insists that there is a slight sound difference (again, im talking in general) between CC and BBb, and has done many tests in regard to this. I am obviously not nearly as experienced as any professional player, but I have noticed some tendancies of BB vs CC that the CC will add more crispness to the note, while the BB tends to be on the broader side. Like you said though, the way the player plays is by far the largest factor, the type of tuba just pushes the tendancies in a certain direction.

I have always found it easier to make crispier note defenitions (if thats a correct way to word it..) on a CC than I could on a BBb, although this could just be me. What are some more opinions on the subject?
