I would suppose from your statements that the high school shares in the same genorosity as the middle school. I will address this question with both in mind, if I may.

I like the weril 4 valve, conn 5J, and yamaha 4 valve front action as 3 considerations, especially with the middle school in mind.

I agree to some extent that the 4th valve is not absolitely needed in the middle school setting. However, I like to get my students into the combinations as soon as practical so that the automatic use of the 4th valve is there by high school.

The 3 mentioned models provide good sound and light weight. The weril is a clase copy of the yamaha. It is very inexpensive, and has so far proven reliable in structure. The yamaha and conn are both good instruments that have passed the test of time.

I have used all three models, and have faith in all of them. The weril will cost about half of the others.
