The previous thread (about a month ? back) discussed the concept of an "Old Man's Tuba". (i think the thread was about a rotor old man's tuba, iirc)
In that thread, everything from Alexanders to 5/4 Rudolf Meinls was mentioned.

My idea of old man's tuba seems to disagree with that thread. I think of an OMT of one that is 4/4 in and 6/4 out (or how about 3/4 in an 4/4 out like a 5xJ Conn CC ?). IE, a horn where the results are 'greater' than the effort used to produce them, NOT a monster bore horn that saps the air out of you like a 20J. I'm thinking about efficiency here.
