Having owned more than a couple of these double-belled beasts, I can tell you that one big problem is getting the intonation to agree between the large and small bells. I could see a long-piston or ganged rotary version where each bell had its own set of tuning slides and the switch valve was placed before the valve cluster, not after.
I remember that Miraphone once made a rotary upright euphonium with 5 valves. If you were wild to have one, I'll bet that the factory would build one for you using its 4RV design, if you crossed their palms with the appropriate amount of silver...
