These are some of the obstacles:
- Finding a popular HALL that is AVAILABLE on a convenient date ("convenient" for the recitist and the potential audience)
- COST of renting the hall, paying the top-quality accompanist, printing the nice-looking programs, lining up "supporting forces" (page turners, other musicians, reception food ??$$$!!)
- COORDINATING rehearsals
- PUBLICITY: local classical music station, local artsy-fartsy newspaper columnist, local high schools (usually almost ZERO response here - no trophys to win), local university (might consider it "competition" with their recital the same evening), local "off-beat" free-flyer pothead newspaper (often will list your recital)
- WORST PROBLEMS: 1/ community apathy 2/ bad weather
