Get a piece of well-made braided (so it won't be stretchy) line (string).

Make a small mark near the end of the string.

RIGHT WHERE THE BELL SECTION MEETS THE BIG FERRULE WHICH CONNECTS THE BELL TO THE BOTTOM BOW, wrap the string around the BELL (NOT the ferrule) and make another mark in the string precisely where the string meets itself. Measure the length of the string between your two marks.

NEXT, measure the height of the bell - the best you can - from that same point (small end where it meets the connection ferrule) all the way to the rim.

You now know the circumference of the small end of the bell section and the overall height of the bell

With this knowledge, you can come back to tubenet and say, "HEY, does anyone have a bell that is XX tall with an XX circumference on the small end with an 18" - 20" rim diameter?"

There are quite a few of us who hoard old bells and someone will have one for sale at a reasonable price and in good condition that meets your needs.

Yes, you can change out receivers without changing the mouthpipe. The discrepancy is small.
