"Eastman fails the "broad education" test..."

buses go back-and-forth all day between the two campuses (campi?)

I know of a recent business/flute double major Eastman graduate - summa cum laude, and I also know of an oboist who rode the bus and took quite a few advanced courses in languages and other disciples as her Eastman degree "electives" (far beyond what was required).

Kenneth,

You've always been one who preaches that an education is not a work permit, but a pursuit for its own rewards. You sound here like your son (with your advice and cooperation) will be ready to design his own program when that day arrives. There are no requirements (that I know of - in any particular college or university) regarding graduation in eight semesters...nor that one may "not" take on an extra 60 hours or so of study - whether or not those extra 60 hours could be organized into some sort of "double major" or "minor".
