This is all good, but you are missing one very important component: you need to generate enthusiasm in the students. Through your personality and sense of humor they need to feel how much you love the music and why you love it. And they need to respect you enough to want to get in on it. My father was so good at it that I decided to teach physics instead of music, because it was easier.
